| Abstract: | เรื่อง หัวใจชายหนุ่ม ของ “รามจิตติ” สะท้อนให้เห็นแนวความคิดสำคัญของผู้ทรงพระราชนิพนธ์ว่าการที่คนไทยที่สำเร็จการศึกษาจากประเทศยุโรปจะรีบเร่งเปลี่ยนแปลงวัฒนธรรมไทยให้เป็นวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกโดยมิได้ใคร่ครวญถึงข้อดีและข้อเสียของวัฒนธรรมทั้งสองเป็นเรื่องไม่สมควร และมักจะเป็นการกระทำที่ไม่ประสบผลสำเร็จ เพราะสังคมไทยและสังคมตะวันตกมีความแตกต่างด้านภูมิหลังทางวัฒนธรรม อยู่หลายประการการเปลี่ยนแปลงวัฒนธรรมในแต่ละสังคมเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นเพื่อความเจริญและเพื่อให้ก้าวทันโลก แม้กระนั้นการเปลี่ยนแปลงวัฒนธรรมไทย ให้มีลักษณะเป็นวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกก็ควรจะเป็นไปในลักษณะของการค่อย ๆ เปลี่ยนแปลงไปทีละเล็กทีละน้อย โดยปรับปรุงวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกนั้นให้มีลักษณะสอดประสานเข้ากับวัฒนธรรมไทยอย่างเหมาะสมกลมกลืน ไม่ใช่รับเอาแต่วัฒนธรรมตะวันตกเข้ามา แล้วทิ้งวัฒนธรรมไทยโดยสิ้นเชิง |
| Other Abstract: | Though the story of the hero in Huajai Chaai Num(Young Man’s Heart); King Rama VI gave his opinion about western and Thai cultures. Having got his schooling abroad, the hero of the story, a young Thai man, accepts western ideas and ways of living. The king expresses the idea that a young Thai man. Educated abroad like the hero; may feel inclined to change the Thai ways of living to fit the western world. Since Thai culture differs widely from the western one, any change is hard to accept. Although certain changes are necessary to keep up with the world, the king points out that the change must be wisely and carefully made little by little in the form of a blend rather than an abrupt change. |
