Abstract:	การประกวดหนังสือและรางวัลวรรณกรรมมีความสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาหนังสือและส่งเสริมการอ่าน รางวัลหนังสือดีเด่นประจำปีในงานสัปดาห์หนังสือแห่งชาติ เป็นรางวัลวรรณกรรมระดับชาติของไทยที่ดำเนินสืบเนื่องมากกว่าสี่สิบปี และมีหนังสือที่ได้รับรางวัลจำนวนมาก การวิเคราะห์นวนิยายและสารคดีที่ได้รับรางวัลในด้านผู้แต่งและเนื้อเรื่องอีกทั้งการสำรวจหนังสือที่ได้รับรางวัลระดับชาติในห้องสมุดต่างๆ สะท้อนให้เห็นข้อจำกัดของหนังสือที่ได้รับรางวัลและทำให้รู้สภาพที่เป็นปัญหา ซึ่งต้องปรับปรุงแก้ไขเพื่อให้ทรัพยากรสารนิเทศที่มีคุณภาพเหล่านี้มีการใช้ประโยชน์อย่างคุ้มค่า
Other Abstract:	Book contests and book awards are important to the promotion of books and reading. The National Book Award given during the National Book Week in Thailand has been in existence for over forty years, and a large number of books have been selected. An analysis of the books awarded both fiction and non-fiction. In terms of author and content and a survey of their availability in libraries reveal that these quality information resources are still not put to the best use by the public.
