| Abstract: | การวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาทัศนะของนักศึกษาในเรื่องสาเหตุ ลักษณะและวิธีการที่ทำให้เกิดการสูญเสียหนังสือของห้องสมุด ตลอดจนวิธีป้องกันและแก้ไขปัญหา โดยตั้งสมมติฐานไว้ว่า 1) การสูญเสียหนังสือของห้องสมุดมีสาเหตุจากสภาพแวดล้อม ลักษณะการเรียนการสอนและทัศนคติของนักศึกษาต่อห้องสมุด 2) ลักษณะและวิธีการที่ทำให้เกิดการสูญเสียหนังสือของห้องสมุดมากที่สุดคือการนำหนังสือออกจากห้องสมุดโดยไม่ยืม 3) การตรวจหนังสือตรงทางเข้าออกของห้องสมุดอย่างเคร่งครัดเป็นวิธีป้องกันการสูญเสียหนังสือที่ดีที่สุดในทัศนะของนักศึกษา โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการรวบรวมข้อมูลจากนักศึกษาที่เข้าใช้ห้องสมุดกลางมหาวิทยาลัยของรัฐ 8 แห่งในกรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 884 คน ได้รับแบบสอบถามคืนร้อยละ 100.0 ผลการวิจัยพบว่าสาเหตุที่สำคัญที่ทำให้เกิดการสูญเสียหนังสือของก้องสมุด 3 อันดับแรก คือ จำนวนหนังสือไม่เพียงพอกับความต้องการของผู้ใช้ (66.7%) บริการถ่ายเอกสารไม่สะดวกต้องเสียเวลารอนาน (53.8%) และการค้นคว้าเพื่อทำรายงานประกอบการเรียน (44.8%) สอดคล้องกับสมมติฐานในบางรายการคือ การสูญเสียหนังสือของห้องสมุดมีสาเหตุจากสภาพแวดล้อมและทัศนคติของนักศึกษาต่อห้องสมุด ส่วนสาเหตุจากลักษณะการเรียนการสอนไม่สอดคล้องกับสมมติฐาน ลักษณะที่ทำให้เกิดการสูญเสียหนังสือของห้องสมุด คือการขีดเขียนข้อความในหนังสือ ([mean] 4.2) ส่วนวิธีการขีดเขียนเน้นข้อความที่ตนสนใจหรือต้องการ ([mean] 4.3) ซึ่งไม่สอดคล้องกับสมมติฐาน วิธีการป้องกันการสูญเสียหนังสือของห้องสมุด 3 อันดับแรก คือ สำรวจความต้องการในการใช้หนังสือแล้วจัดหาให้เพียงพอ([mean] 4.7) รณรงค์ให้นักศึกษามีจิตสำนึกในการช่วยกันรักษาสมบัติส่วนรวม ([mean] 4.5) และพิจารณาจำนวนหนังสือที่ให้ยืมให้เหมาะสมกับความต้องการ ([mean] 4.5) ไม่สอดคล้องกับสมติฐานเช่นเดียวกัน |
| Other Abstract: | The objectives of this research are to study the student opinion of causes, patterns and methods that result in the library book loss, and to prevent the loss. The hypotheses are as follows : 1) The library book loss results from the environment, the teaching methods and the students' attitude to the library. 2) The patterns and methods that cause most of the book loss are that the books are taken out from the library without being borrowed. 3) In the students' opinion the careful checking at the entrance of the library is the best way to prevent book loss. Structured questionnaires were distributed to 884 students who were using the central libraries of eight governmental universities in Bangkok. The returning rate was 100.0 percent. The results of the research show the three main causes of book loss: inadequacy of books (60.7 %), inconvenience of photocopying (53.8 %) and research for term papers (48.8 %). The results partly agree with the hypothesis, for instance - the book loss results from the environment and students' attitude to the library whereas the cause from the teaching methods does not agree with the hypothesis. The pattern of library book loss is defacement ([mean] 4.2), while the method of book loss is the underlining of the interesting or wanted item ([mean] 4.3), which do not agree with the hypothesis. The first three ways to prevent library book loss are as follows : 1) surveying need for book use and supplying books adequately ([mean] 4.7); 2) carrying out a campaign against book defacement and encouraging students to take care of library materials ([mean] 4.5); and 3) reconsidering the number of book loans ([mean] 4.5). Those three ways do not agree with the hypothesis. |
