dc.description.abstractจุดมุ่งหมายของวิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ คือ ศึกษาเปรียบเทียบระบบเสียงของภาษายองซึ่งพูดกัน ณ จุดเก็บข้อมูลต่าง ๆ ในจังหวัดลำพูน จำนวน 5 จุด คือ ในอำเภอเมืองลำพูน 2 จุด อำเภอป่าซาง 1 จุด อำเภอบ้านโฮ่ง 1 จุด และ อำเภอแม่ทา 1 จุด เพื่อเปรียบเทียบให้เห็นลักษณะความคล้ายคลึงและความแตกต่างทางด้านเสียง และ แสดงการแบ่งภาษาถิ่นย่อยของภาษายอง ผลการวิจัยแสดงให้เห็นว่า ระบบพยัญชนะ ระบบสระ และ ระบบวรรณยุกต์ในภาษายองที่พูด ณ จุดเก็บข้อมูลทุกจุดมีจำนวนหน่วยเสียงเท่ากัน คือ หน่วยเสียงพยัญชนะเกี่ยว 21 หน่วยเสียง หน่วยเสียงสระเดี่ยว 18 หน่วยเสียง และ หน่วยเสียงวรรณยุกต์ 6 หน่วยเสียงโดยไม่มีพยัญชนะควบกล้ำและสระประสมในภาษายองที่ศึกษา สำหรับความแตกต่างที่ปรากฏเป็นเรื่องของเสียงย่อยของหน่วยเสียงพยัญชนะ /s/, /x/, /j/ และ /x[superscript w]/ ภาษายองที่พูดกัน ณ จุดเก็บข้อมูลทั้ง 5 จุด สามารถแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ภาษาถิ่นย่อย คือ ภาษาถิ่นย่อยตะวันออก ได้แก่ ภาษาถิ่นย่อยที่พูดในอำเภอแม่ทาและอำเภอเมืองด้านทิศตะวันออก และ ภาษาถิ่นตะวันตก ได้แก่ ภาษาถิ่นย่อยที่พูดกันในอำเภอเมืองด้านทิศตะวันตก อำเภอป่าซาง และ อำเภอบ้านโฮ่ง ระบบวรรณยุกต์ในภาษาถิ่นย่อยทั้งสองของภาษายองที่พูดกันในจังหวัดลำพูนมีลักษณะวิวัฒนาการจากระบบวรรณยุกต์ในภาษาไทดั้งเดิมแตกต่างกัน ภาษาถิ่นย่อยตะวันออกมีลักษณะวิวัฒนาการของระบบวรรณยุกต์คล้ายคลึงกับลักษณะวิวัฒนาการของระบบวรรณยุกต์ในภาษาลื้อที่พูดกันในแคว้นสิบสองปันนา มลฑลยูนนาน ประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน ในขณะที่ภาษาถิ่นย่อยตะวันตกมีลักษณะวิวัฒนาการของระบบวรรณยุกต์คล้ายคลึงกับภาษาลื้อซึ่งพูดกันที่เมืองยอง รัฐชาน ประเทศสหภาพพม่า
dc.description.abstractalternativeThe main purpose of the thesis is to compare the phonological system consisting of consonants, vowels, and tones of Yong spoken in different areas in Lamphun province. There were five study locations, two in Amphoe Muang, one in Amphoe Pa Sang, one in Amphoe Ban Hong, and one in Amphoe Mae Tha. The study also aims at classifying these varieties of Yong on the basis of phonological variations. The investigation shows that the five varieties contain the same number of phonemes and tones ; 21 single consonants, 18 monophthongs, and 6 tones. None contains any clusters and diphthongs. The phonetic realization of the six tones is similar in all of the varieties. Variation exists in the allophones of the consonant phonemes /s/, /x/, /j/ and /x[superscript w]/. The study shows that the five varieties of Lamphun Yong can be classified into two sub – dialects of Lamphun Yong : the eastern sub-dialect spoken in Amphoe Mae Tha and the easten area of Amphoe Muang, and the western sub – dialect spoken in Amphoe PA Sang, Amphoe Ban Hong and the western area of Amphoe Muang. The tonal systems of the two sub – dialects of Lamphun Yong show different types of development from the Proto – Tai. The patterns of tone splits show that the eastern sub – dialect is similar to the Lue dialects of Sipsongpanna in Yunnan, China, whereas the western sub – dialect is similar to the Lue dialect of Muang Yong in Shan State, Burma.
