| Abstract: | วิทยานิพนธ์นี้กล่าวถึงการที่ลัทธิปัจเจกชนนิยมเชิงระเบียบวิธีเสนอให้มีการลดทอนทฤษฏีเกี่ยวกับสังคมเป็นทฤษฎีเกี่ยวกับปัจเจกบุคคล โดยถือว่าเป็นเงื่อนไขที่จะก่อให้เกิดการพัฒนาในสังคมศาสตร์ แต่ประเด็นเรื่องการลดทอนยังเป็นปัญหาถกเถียงกันอยู่ เพราะมันวางรากฐานอยู่บนแนวความคิดเรื่องเอกภาพของศาสตร์ทั้งปวง ซึ่งเน้นให้เอาบรรทัดฐานของวิทยาศาสตร์สาขาฟิสิกส์มาเป็นบรรทัดฐานของความเป็นศาสตร์ของความรู้ทุกสาขา รวมทั้งสังคมศาสตร์ด้วย แนวความคิดนี้ยังเป็นบัญหาที่ถกเถียงกันอยู่เช่นกัน นอกจากนี้ลัทธิปัจเจกชนนิยมเชิงระเบียบวิธียังมีข้ออ้างเหตุผลว่าลัทธิของตนมีความเหนือกว่าลัทธิองค์รวม ในเชิงจริยธรรม แต่ข้ออ้างเหตุผลนี้วางอยู่บนความเข้าใจผิดของลัทธิปัจเจกชนนิยมซึ่งสับสนประเด็นเรื่องเจตจำนงเสรีกับเรื่องเสรีภาพในสังคม วิทยานิพนธ์เสนอว่าเราควรพัฒนาสังคมศาสตร์ในทุกแนวทางอย่างเท่าเทียมกัน ส่วนแนวทางไหนจะได้รับการยอมรับมากกว่ากันเป็นเรื่องของมิติในการประ เมินคุณค่าและการปฏิบัติในสังคม |
| Other Abstract: | This thesis deals with the assertion of methodological individualism that theories about society are to be reduced to theories about individuals. This is the only condition which will enhance the development in the social sciences. Nevertheless the issue of reduction is still a controversial problem. Reduction is based on the idea of the unity of sciences which stresses the criterion of physical science as the criterion of the scientific status of all sciences, including the social sciences. The idea is also disputable. On the other hand, methodological individualism claims that it is morally superior to holism. But the argument is based on the misunderstanding on the part of methodological individualism. It confuses the idea of free will with the idea of freedom in society. This dissertation proposes that the social sciences should be developed methodologically in all directions. As for any direction to be more socially accepted is in the normative and pragmatic dimensions. |
