| dc.description.abstract | การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาปัญหาการใช้หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยสาขาวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ของบรรณารักษ์จัดหมู่และทำบัตรรายการจากห้องสมุดวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ และศึกษาความนิยมในการเลือกใช้หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยสาขาวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ของนักวิชาการวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ โดยตั้งสมมติฐานไว้ว่า 1) หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยด้านวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ ในหนังสือคู่มือการให้หัวเรื่องภาษาไทย มีจำนวนน้อย 2) หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยด้านวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ที่บรรณารักษ์กำหนดขึ้นใช้ในห้องสมุดมีลักษณะที่หลากหลายไม่ตรงกัน 3) หัวเรื่องใหญ่—หัวเรื่องย่อยที่บรรณารักษ์ส่วนใหญ่กำหนดขึ้นใช้เองในห้องสมุด ไม่เป็นไปตามหลักเกณฑ์ของหัวเรื่อง 4) คำและวลีที่เลือกใช้เป็นหัวเรื่องไม่สอดคล้องกับความนิยมในการเลือกใช้ของนักวิชาการวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ สำหรับสมมติฐานข้อที่ 1 ได้ผลจากการวิจัยว่า หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยสาขาวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ที่มีอยู่ในหนังสือคู่มือการให้หัวเรื่องหนังสือภาษาไทย 3 เล่ม มีเพียง 954 หัวเรื่อง จากจำนวนทั้งหมด 12,307 หัวเรื่อง ส่วนหัวเรื่องบรรณารักษ์กำหนดขึ้นใช้เองมีจำนวน 1,654 หัวเรื่อง สำหรับสมมติฐานข้ออื่น ๆ ได้ผลว่า หัวเรื่องที่บรรณารักษ์กำหนดขึ้นใช้เองในห้องสมุดนั้น ใช้คำนามทั่วไป ใช้การสลับที่คำ และใช้หัวเรื่องย่อยประกอบหัวเรื่องใหญ่ แต่นักวิชาการวิศวกรรมศาสตร์นิยมเลือกใช้หัวเรื่องที่มีลักษณะเป็นคำนามแบบคำผสม เพื่อใช้ค้นหาสารนิเทศ สาระสำคัญที่ได้จากงานวิจัยเรื่องนี้คือ บัญชีหัวเรื่องภาษาไทยสาขาวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ จำนวน 1,440 หัวเรื่องที่นักวิชาการนิยมเลือกใช้ และจำนวน 172 คำที่นักวิชาการวิศวกรรมศาสตร์เสนอให้ใช้ซึ่งบรรณารักษ์สามารถนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ในงานห้องสมุดหรือในการปรับปรุงแก้ไขคู่มือการให้หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยให้มีหัวเรื่องด้านวิศวกรรมศาสตร์เพิ่มมากขึ้น | - |
| dc.description.abstractalternative | The purposes of this research were to study the problems in usage of Thai subject headings in engineering by caterlogers and classifiers in an engineering library and the choice of subject headings by academics in the engineering field. The following hypothesis were used in the study 1) Subject headings in engineering in Thai manuals were inadequate 2) Thai subject headings in engineering as complied by librarians were diverse and inconsistent 3) Most of main and sub-headings complied for used in the library did not conform to principles of subject headings 4) Words and phrases selected as headings were not corresponding to the popular use of academics in engineering field. For the first hypothesis the study found that out of three Thai subject headings manuals there were only 954 subject headings in engineering compared with 12,307 total, while those compiled by librarians themselves were 1,654. The study revealed further that librarians often used single nouns, inverted headings, and sub-headings to clarify main headings whereas the engineering academics preferred compound nouns for information search. A result of this study was the lists of 1,440 subject headings and 172 cross references recommended by engineering academics which should be useful for librarians in their works, or in revising the manuals, so as to increase the subject headings in engineering. | - |
