| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะสำรวจหัวเรื่องที่นิสิตจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยชั้นปีที่ 1 มีความสนใจต้องการอ่านในวิชาภาษาอังกฤาและศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเรื่องนิสิตต้องการอ่าน (เรื่องทั่วไปและเรื่องเฉพาะสาขาวิชา) และข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับผู้เรียน (คณะ เพศ และจำนวนปีที่เรียนภาษาอังกฤษ) กับความสามารถในการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษของนิสิต (คะแนนการอ่านและคะแนนการฟัง-การพูด) กลุ่มประชากรคือนิสิตชั้นปีที่ 1 ที่สุ่มมาจาก 14 คณะของจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยจำนวน 834 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้เป็นแบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับหัวเรื่องที่นิสิตสนในอ่านแบบ rating scales การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรม SPSS ปรากฏว่าค่าความเชื่อมั่นของแบบสอบถามเชื่อถือได้ การสำรวจหัวเรื่องที่นิสิตสนใจอ่านปรากฏว่านิสิตทั้ง 14 คณะสนใจอ่านเรื่องการท่องเที่ยว นิทานเรื่องสั้นและการ์ตูน สิ่งมหัศจรรย์และขนบธรรมเนียมแปลก ๆ และเหตุการณ์สำคัญในโลกปัจจุบัน และมีบางหัวเรื่องที่เป็นที่สนใจสำหรับนิสิตเฉพาะกลุ่ม เช่นกลุ่มคณะวิทยาศาสตร์และกลุ่มคณะสังคมศาสตร์-มนุษยศาสตร์ การวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างหัวเรื่องที่นิสิตสนใจอ่านและข้อมูลเกียวกับตัวนิสิตกับสัมฤทธิผลการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษปรากฏว่าความสัมพันธ์ในเชิงทำนายของเรื่องทั่วไป เรื่องเฉพาะสาขาวิชา เพศ และจำนวนปีที่เรียนภาษาอังกฤษกับความสามารถในการอ่านและการฟัง-การพูดแตกต่างกันไปแล้วแต่คณะ เปอร์เซ็นต์ที่ตัวแปรดังกล่าวอธิบายความสำเร็จในการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษอยู่ระหว่าง 1% ถึง 33% |
| Other Abstract: | The objectives of this research are to conduct a general survey of Chulalongkorn University first year students interest in reading topics and to investigate the three following relationships: the students' interest in reading topics (both general and subject-specific), the student variables (sex, faculty and number of years of language learning) and their language achievement (grades obtained from Reading and Oral Communication courses). The sample group consists of 834 first year students randomly selected from the 14 faculties in Chula. The instrument used is a set of rating scales. The SPSS program is employed in the data analysis. Examination of the reliability co-efficient shows high reliability. The topics of high interest fall into two main categories: firstly, topics of common interest, namely travel short stories and comic strips, wonders of the world, interesting traditions, and current events and secondly, topics of specific interest in which students in particular discipline-related faculties are interested. The result of the analysis indicates that general topics, subject-specific topics, sex and number of years of language learning are related to the students' knowledge of English accounting for 0 to 33 percent. |
