| Abstract: | วัตถุประสงค์สำคัญของการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือ เพื่อสร้างโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนแบบสื่อหลากหลายสำหรับช่วยให้นิสิตัชั้นปีที่ 1 ของจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยใช้เรียนรายวิชาภาษาอังกฤษพื้นฐาน 1 (FE 1) ด้วยตนเอง และเพื่อพัฒนาโปรแกรมดังกล่าวให้มีประสิทธิภาพและเหมาะสมกับผู้เรียนดังกล่าวแล้ว พลวิจัยครั้งนี้ได้แก่ นิสิตชั้นปีที่ 1 จำนวน 88 คน จาก 3 ตอนเรียนและ 3 คณะวิชา คือนิติศาสตร์ นิเทศศาสตร์ และวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ จากประชากรทั้งสิ้นจำนวน 3,514 คนที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนรายวิชา FE 1 ในภาคต้นของปีการศึกษา 2541 เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยได้แก่ แบบทดสอบ 3 ชุด แบบวัดเจตคติ 1 ชุด และโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนแบบสื่อหลากหลายที่ครอบคลุมเนื้อหา 4 บท อีก 1 โปรแกรม พลวิจัยแบ่งออกเป็น 3 กลุ่ม ตามระดับคะแนนสมิทธิภาพทั่วไปทางภาษาอังกฤษที่สอบก่อนปฏิบัติการวิจัย คือ กลุ่มอ่อน กลุ่มปานกลาง และกลุ่มเก่ง ตลอดทั้งภาคเรียนพลวิจัยจะต้องใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนด้วยตนเองในห้องปฏิบัติการคอมพิวเตอร์อย่างน้อยเป็นเวลา 1 ชั่วโมง เรียนในห้องเรียนกับอาจารย์(ในที่นี้คือผู้วิจัย) 2 ชั่วโมง และเรียนด้วยตนเองในศูนย์การเรียนรู้ด้วยตนเองอีก 1 ชั่วโมง พลวิจัยนี้สอบแบบทดสอบกลางภาพ แบบทดสอบภาคปลาย และแบบทดสอบการฟังความเข้าใจความที่จัดสอบโดยสถาบันภาษา รวมทั้งตอบแบบสอบถามเจตคติเกี่ยวกับโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนที่ตนใช้ และสอบแบบทดสอบวัดสมิทธิภาพทั่วไปทางภาษาอังกฤษอีกครั้งหนึ่งในสัปดาห์สุดท้ายของภาค ข้อมูลที่ได้จากการทดสอบและจากการสอบถามวิเคราะห์ด้วยโปรแกรม SPSS/PC โดยใช้ t-test (แบบกลุ่มไม่เป็นอิสระ) ANOVA, ANCOVA และ scheff test ผลการศึกษาสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนแบบสื่อหลากหลายที่สร้างขึ้นช่วยให้นิสิตชั้นปีที่ 1 เรียนรายวิชา FE 1 ด้วยตนเองได้ในเรื่อง การอ่านเข้าใจความ คำศัพท์ การฟังเข้าใจความ และทักษะกึ่งการเขียน (การค้นหาข้อผิดพลาด) 2. โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนดังกล่าวมีประสิทธิภาพค่อนข้างสูง และมีความเหมาะสมสำหรับผู้เรียนในระดับค่อนข้างสูง เช่น ก. มีดัชนีประสิทธิภาพ ช 85.08/83.65 ข. สามารถทำให้พลวิจัยมีสมิทธภาพทั่วไปทางภาษาอังกฤษเพิ่มขึ้นได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ค. มีแนวโน้มว่าพลวิจัยมีผลสัมฤทธิ์ในการเรียนรายวิชา FE 1 สูงกว่าผู้เรียนที่ไม่ได้ใช้โปรแกรมดังกล่าวอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ และ ง. โดยเฉลี่ยแล้วพลวิจัยมีเจตคติที่ดีต่อการออกแบบ เนื้อหา และการใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนดังกล่าวแล้ว เป็นต้น |
| Other Abstract: | The main purposes of this study were to construct a multi-media computer-assisted instruction (CAI) porgram for assisting first-year Chulalongkorn University students to learn Foundation English (FE 1) by themselves, and to make the program effective and suitable for them. The subjects were 88 first-year students from 3 sections and 3 faculties, namely: Law, Communication Arts and Engineering. They were from a population of 3,514 students registering to learn FE I in the frist semester of the academic year 1998. Thhe instruments used were 3 sets of tests, 1 set of attitude scales and a 4-chapter multi-media CAI program. Thes subjects were divided into 3 groups namely: Poor, Moderate and Advanced, based on their general English proficiency test scores taken prior to the actual treatment. Theoughout the semester, they were required to use the program at least for 1 hour a week by themselves in a computer lab, to study in class with an instructor (the researcher) for 2 hours and to study by themselves for 1 hour in a self-access learning center. They took the mid-term, the final and listening comprehension tests provided by the Language Institute. In the last week of the semester, they were asked to answer the attitude scales and to take the general English proficiency test again as a post test. The data were then analyzed by SPSS/PC program using t-test )dependent samples), ANOVA, ANCOVA and scheffe tests. The findings can be summarized as follows: 1. The constructed multi-media CAI program could be used to assist the first-year students to learn FE I by themselves in the areas of reading comprehension, vocabulary items, listening comprehension and semi-writing (error-recognition) 2. The effectiveness of the program was rather high and its suitability was also rather high. For example, a. its effectiveness index wes 85.08/83.65, b. thhe subjects' general English proficiency scores increased significantly, c. there was a tendency showing that the subjects' achivement in learning FE I was significantly higher than that of those who did not use the multi-media CAi program, and d. on average, the subjects had good attitudes towards the design, the content and the uitilization of the program. |
