Other Abstract:	Examines the civil service status of librarians in higher education institution. Notes that they are still in a disadvantageous position compared to university civil servants in the A,C, and even to other positions in the same B lines, regarding the position specification and the criteria for position mobility. Enumerates on the petition of the university library’s administrators submitted to the University Civil Service Commission. Details and elucidates the new regulations on university civil service positions according to the cabinet’s policy dated December 30, 1982 designed to improve the status and to reduce the inconsistencies in the position classification system Presents observations with pertinent tabulations and charts of the new status of all of the three lines of university civil servants.
