| Other Abstract: | In this article the author has investigated and compiled concepts to be used as factors for supporting the executives’ decision-making in selecting the application of either one or both of these two technologies, CD-ROM and ONLINE, in the library and information center systems. Opinions of those directly involved with the information system as well as of those who possess direct experiences on the production, and utilization of CD-ROM and ONLINE technologies have also been compared. Besides, the recent market situation of CD ROM (i.e. from 1985 to early 1988) together with essential CD-ROM databases classified by its application have been presented. Finally, pertinent annotated bibliographies are provided. |
