Abstract:	By means of chromatographic and crystallization techniques, a lignin named lyoniresinol and an unidentified alkaloid were isolated from the stem of Strychnos thorelii Pierre ex Dop. The identification of the lignin was based on spectroscopic data. This compound has never been reported to be found in this species before.
Other Abstract:	โดยวิธีทางรงคเลขและการตกผลึก สามารถแยกได้สารลิกแนน ชื่อ lyoniresinol และสารแอลคาลอยด์ ซึ่งยังไม่ทราบสูตรโครงสร้างทางเคมี จากต้นสะเอ้ง (Strychnos thorelii Pierre ex Dop) การพิสูจน์เอกลักษณ์ของสารลิกแนน ทำโดยอาศัยข้อมูลจากวิธีทางสเปคโตรสโคปี สารลิกแนนดังกล่าวยังไม่เคยมีรายงานว่าพบในพืชชนิดนี้มาก่อน
